Having just experienced my first New Year in Japan, I completely agree with you. Like everyone else, I shut myself up at home, hiding away from the cold & getting some much-needed rest with books & games. No fireworks going off all through the night! I'm not sure if I prefer the Japanese holiday--I would've loved to spend it with family--but it was good.
Happy New Year, Leanne! I much prefer the Japanese way of New Year celebration, quiet contemplation of what was, is and will be. (This was difficult since the fireworks were going off right in front of my window. . .) I love the illustration, what is that?
Happy new year, Brooks! I definitely much prefer the Japanese style quiet celebration it was so loud here last night they were fireworks right outside the window and I think somebody was shooting off Rockets and they were screaming until two in the morning!!!!! That’s the kagami mochi!
