So…I have a source for subtitled episodes! But I’m not going to post it because it’s obviously a sketchy site. I sometimes resort to this place when I can’t figure out a scene, or if I’ve missed the on-demand window on my subscription service. The only catch is that it takes them awhile to post the subtitled versions, so they’re only on episode 3. The good side of this is that these episodes will be up forever, so you can take your time watching. Sally, Leanne has my email! And I think I’m reachable through my newsletter, JAPLISH, if anyone wants the link. One more thing, if you use a VPN the scary ads don’t pop up!

I just emailed you! I would love that link! I think that’s fantastic that there’s actually this option. That’s going to save me a lot of wondering about things!

The music linked is extraordinary! Thank you! I wish there were subtitles to the series. (Someday? Maybe?). Good to learn about how nature is personified through the sounds. Happy Hina-Matsuri! I always enjoy seeing your dolls!

Thank you!! I was also blown away by the music videos. It really made me want to reread the tale of heike but to focus on music, which I’ve never never thought about before! I also wish so much that they would put subtitles on these incredible dramas. I had to go onto Twitter to find subtitles in Japanese for one of the scenes that I just could not parse. I’m watching it on a really sketchy site with scary advertising which is bad enough but I really wish they would at least offer subtitles! Even the AI generated ones like on YouTube As it is now I have to go and read all these sites to try to figure out exactly what’s going on before I watch and then when I have questions I have to look around on Japanese sites to try to piece together what I missed. Subtitles would be such a help! And also, this drama is so amazing and so the subtitles would give it such a global reach.
