Beautiful. Harmony is one of my ‘lodestar’ words for this year.

He has parties regularly at the place in Kamakura but it is not where he lives.

I saw the book in your photo, and look forward to your impressions of it!

Another beautiful mediation, Leanne! You taught me nuances of nagomi I hadn't thought of before. I'm usually cynical about 'Japanese concept' books, but this one sounds worthwhile. I've also met Ken Mogi and enjoyed his company.

Did you really? I would love to meet him!! I am also cot a fan of these Japanese concepts books since they often turn out to be self-help that is far removed from the actual concept by treating the self as a resource to be augmented.... I liked the book a lot and like his videos. I think he wrote this one in English. My ex-husband knows him too and admires him a lot.

He does write in English. The first one, Ikigai, was also written in English. I was introduced by a friend who took me to a party at his house in Kamakura. On the hills overlooking the sea - it was sublime!

Oh that is fantastic! I wonder if my ex was there too :) I love Kamakura. What a dream to live in a place like that... did I tell you I got your latest translation at Politics and Prose in DC? I was so happy to see it. Looking forward to reading!
